SSTQB
The International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB, www.istqb.org) is a non-profit organization created in 2002 by enterprises, institutions, organizations and specialized individuals in the testing field and software industry. The association purpose is to support and define an international certification scheme. This committee provides the syllabus and the glossary which defines the international standards for levels and establishing the guidelines for accreditation and assessment of testing professionals by committees in each country. In Spain SSTQB (Spanish Software Testing Qualification Board) is the official representative of the ISTQB.
The current ISTQB effort is aimed at bringing terms and testing concepts, this is done through the work of various committees (or "boards") around the world, including the SSTQB. The "boards" of each country or region are responsible for supporting both, the conceptual work collaborating with other committees in charge of the certification process, as well as addressing translation issues. The certification, internationally recognized, is how the professionals can compare and standardize terms with those of ISTQB.
